Everyone loves afternoon tea; tasty finger sandwiches, patisseries, a refreshing cup of tea, you get the picture. But this is a little bit different. St James’s Hotel & Club have launched ‘It’s all in the game’ afternoon tea; an exciting board game concept designed by executive Head Chef William Drabble at Michelin Starred; Seven Park Place.
It is designed to be the perfect way to re-connect with family and friends, and guests are encouraged to log off the internet and spend quality time together relaxing and indulging in delicious afternoon treats and a board game or two. Something which is increasingly overlooked in this fast-paced, screen based world.
The theme of the afternoon tea board game is based around classic games, including Snakes & Ladders, Backgammon, Chess, Monopoly, Scrabble, Dominoes and Ludo, all available to play at the hotel. Enjoy some delicious cake dice, edible scrabble letters, shortbread dominoes and chocolate Monopoly hats.
Hamleys have partnered St. James’s Hotel & Club to create an exclusive family experience, which also includes a VIP tour of Hamleys, with discounts on offer, as well as an overnight stay at the hotel.
The original St. James Club, has a historical connection with board games and a game of Backgammon was often a popular pastime for characters such as Winston Churchill and Ian Fleming.
What an exciting way to spend a lazy afternoon in London!
